Arbitration: Red Sox and Junichi Tazawa avoid a hearing

Joel Sherman reports that Junichi Tazawa and the Boston Red Sox will not be going to an arbitration hearing.

The two sides have agreed to a deal that will pay the stand out set up man $1.275 million for 2014. Having become invaluable to the Sox as they won the World Series, Tazawa earned $815,000 being the set up man to eventual closer Koji Uehara. He pitched to a 5-4 record with a 3.16 ERA over 71 games with the Sox.
