Count NBA legend and former rebounding force Charles Barkley as one who feels Carmelo Anthony doesn’t make his teammates better, this according to Frank Isola of the Daily News.

The New York Knicks took another tough loss on the chin Thursday night, leading to a mini-rant from Carmelo. That rant spawned the comments from Barkley, who will giving praise to the former Orangeman for being a special talent, stated he hasn’t learned how to make his teammates better.

TNT’s Charles Barkley on Carmelo Anthony: “He hasn’t learned how to make other players better.”

It’s an understandable sentiment and one many would likely agree with.

Melo, for all his pluses, does seem to struggle in regards to being a leader and has a game that doesn’t exactly breed instant success for his teammates.

It also hasn’t helped that the Knicks front office has surrounded Carmelo with a roster full of one dimensional players who don’t fit within his game.

Should be an interesting final few months for Carmelo in New York, who will be a free agent at season end.
