The Chicago Bulls aren’t having the spectacular regular season they thought they’d be having as they’re fighting for playoff positioning without Derrick Rose and without Luol Deng. But everyone in Chicago should rest easy about the team’s championship aspirations, as they have Mike Dunleavy and his elbow on their side.
Dunleavy, who himself has been the subject of trade rumors, found himself on the wrong side of a John Wall fastbreak on Friday and decided the only thing he could do was throw up his arms in defeat — or possibly fear. The only problem was that Mike Dunleavy nailed Wall in the process of giving up and sent him flailing to the floor.
The elbow didn’t so much look like Dunleavy giving up as much as it looked like he was laying it out there Three Stooges style for Wall to run into — and run into it Wall certainly did. But just like the Bulls season, the ball managed to go in and Dunleavy’s elbow efforts resulted in a bucket anyways.
