Knicks' Amare Stoudemire will be reevaluated Friday, could require an MRI

The New York Knicks and Amare Stoudemire continue to struggle with injuries when Stoudemire rolled his left ankle in the third quarter and left the game. He’ll be further evaluated on Friday and could require an MRI.

From the New York Post:

Stoudemire said he will be reevaluated Friday and could need an MRI exam. He is holding out hope he could be back in one week.

“Hopefully sooner than later” Stoudemire said. “I’m not sure. We’ll see how it feels [Friday]. Right now it’s throbbing pretty well now because the trauma happened not so long ago. ’’

The Knicks have been struggling with injuries to big men and it has them in a bit of a bind. Forward Carmelo Anthony even joked that he might have to play center.

“I guess I’ll be a five,’’ Anthony said. “Amar’e really sprained his ankle really bad. Kenyon’s ankle felt different than it did before. We lost two of our big guys. We got couple of big guys who we have to utilize.’’
