Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio is a talented player who can see the court with an All-Star like vision. Unfortunately for Rubio, other parts of his game (specifically shooting) have yet to translate into success and the struggles are weighing on the young talent.
After another tough loss, Rubio opened up to the AP and suggested that basketball isn’t as fun as it once was:
“It’s basketball. I love it,” Rubio said. “But I’m just not having as much fun as it used to be. I know it has to be professional. But I just want to have fun. It’s hard to find it right now.” [...]
It could just be emotion talking, but the last thing you ever want to hear from an athlete is that the game they love is no longer fun. It could also be the fact that Rubio is currently on pace to be the worst shooter (percentage wise) in NBA history.
Of course, winning basketball can change that pretty quickly, so hopefully for Rubio and Minnesota fans, the Timberwolves will snap out of their funk and return to winning ways.
