Nick Carparelli Jr. to leave American Athletic Conference for Under Armour

Things seem like they are always changing in the American Athletic Conference, and now one of the leaders who helped guide the conference through tough times will be departing.

As Sports Illustrated reported on Thursday, Nick Carparelli Jr., who served as the AAC’s senior associate commissioner for football and marketing, will be leaving to take a job with Under Armour.

Carparelli spoke about the decision in a phone interview:

I feel fortunate to join a team like Under Armour. It’s one of the great modern day business success stories.

He continued:

I’m proud to have been associated with the Big East Conference. I grew up a Big East fan and the Big East will go down in history as being one of the great success stories in sports. It was 30-plus years of success, despite the odds.
According to the SI report, Carparelli will become the senior director of college sports at Under Armour. The athletic apparel company currently makes football uniforms for schools like Auburn, Texas Tech, and South Carolina.
