‘The Quiet Ones’ Creepy New Trailer Shows Us Why Creating a Ghost Is Never a Good Idea (Video)

Yesterday, Lionsgate and Hammer Films released the first official trailer for their upcoming film The Quiet Ones.

If there is one thing that the trailer makes crystal clear, it is the simple fact that attempting to “create” a ghost is never the brightest of ideas.

Here is a quick synopsis of the film courtesy of Hammer Films.

THE QUIET ONES tells the story of an unorthodox professor (Harris) who uses controversial methods and leads his best students off the grid to take part in a dangerous experiment: to create a poltergeist. Based on the theory that paranormal activity is caused by human negative energy, the rogue scientists perform a series of tests on a young patient, pushing her to the edge of sanity. As frightening occurrences begin to take place with shocking and gruesome consequences, the group quickly realizes they have triggered a force more terrifying and evil than they ever could have imagined.

You should probably just take a look for yourself. Here is a look at the first official trailer for the upcoming film The Quiet Ones.

The film stars Sam Claflin, who you may recognize as Finnick Odair from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Jared Harris, who most recently played Hodge in the film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Olivia Cooke, who you’ll recognize as Emma Decody from the series Bates Motel, and many more.

The film is being directed by John Pogue.

The Quiet Ones is scheduled to be released on April 25, 2014.
