The Brooklyn Nets may only be a little over a year old, but the New Jersey Nets have a rich history. They started back in the ABA, and were once the New York Nets. Their current jerseys in Brooklyn are black and white and actually quite simple, but their old jerseys were red, white, and blue, and stood out.

According to Uni-Watch.com, the Nets are developing a new uniform that will pay homage to their rich past:

I recently heard from a credible source who told me that the Nets have developed a new jersey that’s a lot like their classic Dr. J-era look, but rendered in their current black-and-white color scheme and with their current font. The source created a mock-up to show roughly what it looks like:

He goes on to report that this jersey will have sleeves. That annoys me. I hate the sleeves, and honestly the fans have voiced their displeasure with them as well. I think these would be cool, and I like the fact that they will pay respect to their past.

If the NBA would only get rid of those horrid sleeves.
