The San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks are set to play for the NFC crown this Sunday with the victor of the NFC Championship punching their ticket to the Super Bowl.

Fans on both sides are understandably nervous and on high alert and the same can apparently be said for the team cities baseball teams who got into a small war of words this afternoon.

The San Francisco Giants’ Twitter account decided to give some love to 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick who threw out a first pitch at a Giants’ game during the 2013 season.

From First Pitch to NFC Championship, Kap is the man #SFUnitehttp://tmblr.co/Zoo8jv14a-7M0  #QuestForSix

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson did the same for the Mariners, who decided to mock the Giants with the following tweet:

@SFGiants Our guy has been throwing strikes since the offseason. http://tmblr.co/ZKzjiv14bWsln #GoHawks

Having none of that, the Giants fought back:

@Mariners he had a longer offseason last season.

Somebody get the Coppertone because that’s a burn.

Granted, it’s by no stretch the best Twitter war we’ve ever seen but still relatively funny.
