The Indianapolis Colts and their fans can breathe a sigh of relief. After reports surfaced that offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton was considered a candidate for the Vanderbilt Commodores head coaching vacancy, there was some worry that the team could be forced to look for a new coordinator for next season.
As it turns out, Hamilton will be staying put and the Colts can prepare for next season without changing coordinators.
According to Bruce Feldman of CBSSports.com, Hamilton has pulled his name from consideration for the Vanderbilt head coaching job.
Hamilton was likely not going to receive the Vanderbilt gig, but it is still good news for the Colts, who can now focus on moving forward with franchise quarterback Andrew Luck and his offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach from Stanford.
