The team qualified for the 1992 and 1994 Winter Olympics and then the 2002 Games in Utah, but it then faded, failing to qualify for the next two Games.
Yesterday on their Facebook page, the Jamaica Olympics Facebook page announced they still needed to get some help for funding to make the trip.
Jamaica Bobsled team on the verge of qualifying for Winter Olympics in Sochi but they are struggling to get funding. International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (FIBT) will announce qualification on Monday.
Winston Watts and Marvin Dixon are expected to qualify for next month’s Games in Sochi in the two-man sled, the first time a bobsleigh team has represented the Caribbean island since 2002.
Hopefully with the help of internet and online donations they can make the trip to Sochi.
