Florida at Auburn final score: Gators survive upset bid to beat Tigers 68-61

The No. 7 Florida Gators got all they could handle from the Auburn Tigers Saturday afternoon as they escaped with a 68-61 road victory to improve to 15-2 overall and 4-0 in the SEC as the Tigers fell to 8-7 on the year and are still in search of their first SEC win as they drop to 0-4 in the conference.

Auburn was able to keep it close–it was a one-possession game for much of the final few minutes–because of the three-point shot as they drilled seven of their 13 attempts from beyond the arc. Chris Denson‘s 21 and KT Harrell’s 18 points made Florida sweat it out in Auburn Arena.

However, Florida’s depth prevailed as the Tigers ran out of gas in the final minutes as the Gators stretched their lead to seven and put the game on ice.

Florida was led by 21 points off the bench form Casey Prather who was lights out from the field as he shot 8-10 on the day. He also tied Patric Young and Will Yeguette with a game-high six rebounds.

Florida hits the road again on Thursday when they travel to the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn’s next game is at the Mississippi State Bulldogs as the Tigers look to get on the board with an SEC win.
