One of the hottest prospects to keep an eye on in the NFL Draft this year is South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. Not only is he in the conversation for first overall pick this April, but he’s a freak of an athlete who many scouts think will turn into the next great defensive player in the NFL.

Needless to say, Clowney is also under the impression that his NFL future is bright, as he told reporters this weekend that not only will he fully participate in the NFL Combine, but his numbers are going to be ‘amazing’.

Clowney is certainly not selling himself short ahead of the draft combine, but he really has no other options. He’s been built up to be a god walking among mere mortal college football prospects, and more power to him if he wants to buy into that notion.

He’s setting the bar high though by buying into his god-like depiction in the media, and his numbers will now be the talk of the combine, whether they’re being spun in a positive light or not.
