Knicks moving Andrea Bargnani to the bench is a ‘possibility’

The New York Knicks are trying to do anything to get going, unfortunately they’re dealing with injuries on a fairly regular basis. Forward Andrea Bargnani has just been in a bit of a slump, and he could be looking at a trip to the bench allowing Carmelo Anthony to play at the power forward position.

“That’s a possibility,” head coach Mike Woodson said, via ESPN New York. “I know we were great last year with Melo at [power forward] and Melo hasn’t had an opportunity to play a lot of four this year based on, you know, Bargnani, and having Kenyon and Amar’e. You’ll probably see more four now that those guys are out. Bargnani could possibly come off and back up Tyson at the center spot.”

Bargnani isn’t the only person who needs to get out of a slump according to Woodson though.

“I wish everybody could step up,” Woodson said. “… There’s been struggles all over the place.”

They should’ve done this long time ago. Bargnani is a defensive liability if you play him more minutes but can be a decent scorer coming off the bench if they executed proper plays for him.
