The 6-foot-3, 203-pound Del Rio, rated the No. 2 player in his graduating class in the state of Colorado, redshirted for the Crimson Tide this past seasons. After being required to sit out next season due to NCAA transfer rules, he will have three years of eligibility remaining starting in 2015.
Oregon State head coach Mike Riley had this to say about Del Rio:
We are very excited that Luke has chosen to join the Oregon State Football program. He is an exceptional young man and will be a great representative of Beaver Nation on and off the field.
Luke is the son of former NFL player Jack Del Rio, who is now a defensive coordinator in the NFL. (I think the team he helps coach is in some important game this weekend or something.)
