The Texas Longhorns improved to 14-4 on the year and 3-2 in the Big 12 with an 86-76 win over the No. 8 Iowa State Cyclones from the Frank Erwin Special Events Center in Austin, Texas on Saturday afternoon.

Jonathan Holmes scored 23 points on 9-13 shooting and Cam Ridley had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Texas in their biggest win of the year and their third consecutive conference win after starting Big 12 play with two straight losses.

Iowa State has now lost three straight games to Big 12 teams after starting the season 14-0 and is the club’s longest losing streak since the 2010-2011 season. The Cyclones have not win in Austin since they knocked off the Longhorns in 2005.

Iowa State looks to snap their three-game losing streak on Jan. 25 when they host the Kansas State Wildcats. Texas, meanwhile, also is up next against Kansas State when they host the 14-4 Wildcats on Jan. 21.
