The World Series of Fighting believes they deserve to be considered the #2 MMA promotion behind the UFC. Most would reserve that spot for the tenured Bellator MMA, so WSOF’s executive Vice President, Ali Abdelaziz, came up with a way to settle the score. On a recent episode of the MMA Hour, Abdelaziz proposed a Bellator vs WSOF pay per view event with ‘winner takes all stakes’. The main event of the proposed card was a Light Heavyweight tilt between Tyrone Spong and Rampage Jackson.
Bellator never commented on Abdelaziz’s proposal, and the card had seemingly slipped through the cracks. Add in the fact that both Bellator and WSOF are currently promoting their own respective events, and the co-promotion has been put on the backburner. That is until Tyrone Spong reignited the fire with a late night tweet to Bellator’s Rampage Jackson:

Spong recently inked a new multi-fight deal with World Series of Fighting and is itching to get back into the cage. Evidently, Spong likes the matchup against Bellator’s Jackson, and decided to stir the pot with the aforementioned tweet.
