The Utah Utes upset No. 25 UCLA Bruins at Jon M. Huntsman Center on Saturday afternoon with a 74-69 victory to improve to 14-4 on the year and even their Pac 12 record at 3-3.
The Bruins drop to 14-4 and 3-2 in the Pac 12 despite 28 points, seven rebounds and seven assists from sensational sophomore Kyle Anderson who was a perfect 5-5 from beyond the arc.
Utah had four players score in double-figures led by the 17 from Jordan Loveridge who also led the team with nine rebounds. Brandon Taylor, Delon Wright and Kenneth Ogbe each tallied 12 points for the Utes who took a 36-26 lead at the half.
UCLA stormed back from a 17-point deficit to make it close in the final minutes, but it was Anderson’s turnover in the final seconds that sealed the upset for the Utes.
UCLA looks to get back in the win column when they host Stanford on Jan. 23 while Utah looks to take the momentum form this win into their road contest against Arizona State.
