The Los Angeles Clippers took a tough loss on Friday night against the Indiana Pacers, but they almost lost much more thanks to a wayward (and relatively cheap) elbow from Pacers power forward, David West.
With just seconds remaining in the first half, the Indiana Pacers were attempting to inbound the ball. A tipped pass which bounced off Blake Griffin trickled down the opposite side of the court and Griffin attempted to get a shot up before time expired. He wasn’t successful and upset with himself, he attempted to grab the ball as it came out of the net.
So did Pacers power forward David West.
The two stood side by side for a moment, each reaching for the ball before West, becoming irritated tossed an elbow at the head of Griffin much to the shock of the Clippers forward. He was ejected moments later.
This of course wasn’t the first time Griffin and West found themselves in a dust-up and it’s unlikely to be the last.
Chris Paul must feel like a torn girlfriend stuck in the middle.
