The Detroit Lions had the third best passing offense in the NFL in 2013. They’re run game wasn’t as strong coming in at 17th with an average of 112 yards per game. While new head coach Jim Caldwell has a history with quarterbacks like Peyton Manning, the Lions are expected to be committed to the run in this new offense.

“One of the most frustrating things for me over the past five years, really until this year, was our inability to run the ball effectively in the NFC North,” Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said last week.

“Some of that was personnel-related, I think, but that was hard for me personally for what I wanted from our football team. I don’t think that’s going to be an issue with Jim’s offense.”

That has to be music to Reggie Bush’s ears.

He rushed 223 times for 1,006 yards and a solid 4.5 yard per game average. He also caught 54 passes for 506 yards. Only one player in the NFL crossed the 1,000 yard mark with less carries than Reggie Bush.
