Unless you have been living under a rock, you are well aware of the bitter feud between Michael Bisping and Tim Kennedy. Ever since Kennedy has crossed over from StrikeForce he has become a social media machine, blasting out insults to anyone that would listen. The man on the receiving end of most of the insults was none other than Michael Bisping. Unfortunately, Bisping has been sidelined due to a gruesome eye injury and the fight has yet to materialize.
Today, news broke that the UFC is targeting Bisping vs Kennedy as the TUF Nations Finale main event. Fox Sports’ Damon Martin broke the news earlier, stating that both men have verbally agreed to the bout, but it has yet to be signed due to one crucial factor according to Bisping (Courtesy of Fox Sports):
I was cleared to fight by my doctor. My doctor wrote a letter to the UFC, clearing me 100%. The UFC very kindly offered me a fight against Tim Kennedy. No bout agreements are signed as yet, but unfortunately for me the UFC want to do some more testing to cover their side of things. They don’t want anything to go wrong with my eye.
So I’ve got to do a visual field test, that should be taking place pretty quickly, I’m assuming. I want to get it done ASAP and get this fight locked away.
Barring any setbacks it looks like the TUF Nations Finale will have a top ten Middleweight bout scheduled for the April 16th event. The matchup is sure to bring fireworks pre-fight, in-fight, and post-fight as both men despise one another.
