The Phoenix Suns are still a scrappy team without their star in Eric Bledsoe, and they showed that on Sunday night. The Suns started out hot, and they were getting contributions from everyone they threw out on the court.
Channing Frye stuck out, and he had a season-high 30 points. His style fits the Suns’ system really well, and it showed. The Denver Nuggets had an impressive win over the Warriors coming in, but they have been plagued by inconsistency this season. and they could never really get going in this one.
Everyone who played for the Suns scored, and they had five players in double figures–led by Frye’s 30 points. The Nuggets shot just 43 percent from the field, and were led by Anthony Randolph’s 19 points off the bench.
The Suns moved to 23-17 after the 117-103 win, and the Nuggets fell to 20-20. If Denver continues to play like this, they could be on the outside looking in when the playoffs roll around. For at least one night, the Suns showed that they still have some fight left in them.
