Over the weekend, Indiana Pacers Paul George threw down the dunk of the year in the middle of a game. He intercepted a pass and took off up court and before throwing down a 360 dunk that was eerily reminiscent of Vince Carter’s dunk from the 2000 Slam Dunk contest.
Artist PATruby sketched the dunk and animated it like a flip book of sorts. Check it out below:
That has people clamoring for George to enter the NBA dunk contest, a contest that has dipped in years recently in terms of excitement. Mainly because the league’s best players have avoided it. George said he was interested, but only if there were quality opponents to go up against in the event.
“It would all depend on who’s in it,” George said, via Pacers.com. “I want to be in it when the competition is good.”
If you can get Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan in, and find a few other solid names, that could be enough to bring some life back to the event.
