Mark Duffner joins Dolphins from Jaguars

The Miami Dolphins have filled one of their vacant coaching positions without even having to look outside the state of Florida. After the departure of linebackers coach George Edwards to the Vikings, Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union the Dolphins hired Jacksonville Jaguars linebackers coach Mark Duffner.

Duffner has history with Dolphins coach Joe Philbin, having worked on the same Green Bay Packers staff as Philbin in the mid-2000s. He had been with the Jaguars since Jack Del Rio’s tenure as the head coach, and was retained by Mike Mularkey and Gus Bradley.

Everyone coach on the Dolphins have a history with Philbin except for the impending GM hire, and thats where the rub is. This reminds me of the Parcell days when every coach and has been player Dallas had ended up with the Dolphins. Sparano, Ireland, Colombo, et al.
