It’s been six months (give or take) since the Milwaukee Bucks used their amnesty provision on forward Drew Gooden.
The big man hasn’t played in the league since, but is currently working out in Florida in hopes of returning to the NBA – this according to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports.
NBA free-agent forward Drew Gooden, who the Bucks used the amnesty provision on, is working out in Orlando waiting for a call from an NBA team, a source said.
While Gooden’s final season in Milwaukee was less than impressive (he only played in 16 games), the former first round pick was still getting it done during the 2011-12 campaign where he averaged over 13 points and 6 rebounds in just 26 minutes of action.
Still just 32 (though approaching 33), it’s likely Gooden will be a solid addition to any team wanting some interior help and could be a consolation prize to a team that strikes out in the Andrew Bynum sweepstakes.
Gooden has played for nine teams during his 11-year NBA career.
