NBA Rumors: New Orleans Pelicans want to trade for ‘big man’

The New Orleans Pelicans have been riddled with injuries this season which has attributed to their 15-24 record.

Still, under relatively new ownership, the franchise is still attempting to compete and are looking to acquire a ‘big man’ via trade after losing Ryan Anderson for the foreseeable future due to a neck injury.

Per Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports:

The struggling Pelicans are interested in a trade for a big man after losing forwards Ryan Anderson and Jason Smith to injury, sources said.

It’s not known what type of big man they’re looking for, be it one of a more traditional sense or somebody more like Anderson who was able to spread the floor with his shooting. Either way, it’s doubtful they’re going to be overly successful in their endeavors as big men are not often available for trade, especially high quality ones.

Of course, the Pelicans could opt to blow things up completely and offer up Eric Gordon or Tyreke Evans, who are reportedly available for trade.
