Say what you want about Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, but he isn’t as bad as people make him out to be. He can be loud and boisterous for the wrong reasons, but sometimes he is for the right reasons.

When 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman tore his ACL he was carted off the field, and then Seahawks fans allegedly threw popcorn and food at him as he exited the field. Sherman denounced the actions of his fan base in a column for Sports Illustrated ‘s MMQB.

“One thing I can’t accept is what I read after the game about Seahawks fans throwing food at 49ers linebacker Navorro Bowman as he was being carted off the field with his knee injury. If it’s true, it’s beyond terrible. That’s as low as it gets. I’m sure whoever did this is in a small minority of fans, because I don’t think that kind of action is an accurate representation of the character of the 12th man. Navorro Bowman is a great player who plays the game the right way. When he went down, I dropped to a knee and prayed for him. He deserves better than having food thrown at him as he’s carted off a field. All players deserve better than that.”

Sherman deserves some respect and acknowledgement for this, though it will likely go unnoticed as people focus on the Michael Crabtree incident.

The Seahawks should go back to the AFC West, where they will fit in with Raiders fans! This may have been only a couple of drunk, or not, fans that were a small percentage of the fans in the stands. However, the majority of “good” fans should have tossed these disgraceful losers down to their popcorn!

The other and greater issue is the elitist attitude of Seattle fans. This was evident this past year in their attitude or sense of entitlement with trying to get the Sacramento Kings. The 12th Man only came to being when the Hawks started winning. Where was the 12th Man when the team was 7-9 for Carroll’s first two years? The fans had nothing to do with the win yesterday. It had to do with a well rested team with big plays and a 49er team tired from weeks of travel and a QB that tried to make plays he shouldn’t have made!

You obviously know nothing about the 12th Man in Seattle. It is a tradition that has been around long before Pete Carroll even showed up.

I’m sorry, but, Richard Sherman is a monkey that needs to shut his big mouth. The refs officiated the game in the Seahawks favor in every regard. The great Seahawks secondary gets away with holding from 20 yards + and only got called once. The td to boldin, he was held all the way to the end zone, and yet, no flag. They didn’t want to throw a flag on the second intentional grounding, but had to, and after a 5 minute huddle they came to the obvious conclusion. I hope the broncos beat them, seeing as the Seahawks won’t have paid off the officials.
