Sochi Olympics 2014: Former NFL receiver makes USA bobsledding team

The United States Olympic team just got some NFL flare added to the mix. It was announced on Monday that former NFL wide receiver Johnny Quinn has been named to the U.S.A. bobsledding team for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Olympics.

Quinn played briefly for the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers as part of the offseason rosters. He also played in the in the Canadian Football League with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

With a new focus, Quinn will now be looking to reach the top of his sport as a push athlete for the United States in the four-man bobsled.

“I’ve been on the other side of the fence when you get your name not called,” Quinn said, via Olympic Talk. “I’ve learned getting cut three times that life moves on. I am very pleased, though, that my name was called and I get to represent the United States.”

Quinn began bobsledding in 2010, and now he will get the opportunity to compete on the world’s largest stage.
