The ACC generally releases their football schedule later than several of the other major conferences and many experts felt they would not release their 2014 schedule until February at the earliest.
However, that isn’t the case.
With the addition of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who will play five games against ACC teams every year, it appears as though the conference actually made the schedule faster this season.
There are some fantastic matchups we already know about. The defending national champions, the Florida State Seminoles will open their season against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Cowboys Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
The Clemson Tigers hosted the Georgia Bulldogs this year and the Tigers will return the favor by traveling to Athens for their game this year.
The Miami Hurricanes will travel to Nebraska to take on the Cornhuskers on September 20.
The Irish will get their first taste of the ACC when they travel to Syracuse to take on the Orange on September 27. Their biggest test will come on October 18 when they travel to Tallahassee to take on the champs.
The Louisville Cardinals are rumored to play their first conference game on Labor Day, perhaps against the Hurricanes after they moved their rivalry game with the Kentucky Wildcats to the end of the season.
The schedule will be out at 3:00 pm EST.
