2013 was a strong year for the upstart promotion World Series of Fighting. Exciting events brought MMA fans numerous highlights, finishes, and storylines. Nick Newell established himself as a contender, Marlon Moraes became a star, and new champions were crowned. Before the World Series of Fighting moves forward with 2014, the company wants fans to take a look back at the best of 2013. The World Series of Fighting is already off to a hot start in 2014 with their 8th event going down this past weekend. That night, the World Series of Fighting crowned it’s inaugural Lightweight and Women’s Strawweight champions. Justin Gaethje defeated Rich Patishnock via TKO to become the first ever Lightweight champ, while Jessica Aguilar choked out Alida Gray for her first title in her illustrious career.
