Chad Thomas wavering on commitment to Miami after scheduling official visits?

Five-star defensive end Chad Thomas (Miami, Fla. Booker T. Washington) has been committed to the Miami Hurricanes since July 20, but that commitment may be wavering as he has schedules two officials before the Feb. 5 National Signing Day.

The Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida State Seminoles will host the 6-5, 240-pound rusher who ranks as the No. 26 player overall, the No. 3 weakside defensive end and the No. 5 recruit in the state of Florida according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Florida State will host Thomas on the weekend of Jan. 24 with Alabama getting his final official on Jan. 31.

Coaches from all three of these schools will be making in-home visits for Thomas who maintains he’s fully committed to Miami but wants to check out other schools to make sure he’s making the best decision for himself prior to signing day.

Thomas was selected to play in the Under Armour All-American game played on Jan. 2 after a 72-tackle season in which he recorded eight sacks.
