Derek Ernst, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Michael Kim played a practice round on Torrey South.  Ernst and Spieth won during their rookie campaigns in 2013, and Thomas earned his Web.com Tour card in December.  Kim received a sponsor’s exemption to play in the Farmers, and is making his pro debut this week.

Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, and Chesson Hadley played a practice round on Torrey North.  Poulter is currently ranked 12th in the world, and Westwood is ranked 26th.  The Englishmen are two of the most consistent players on Tour with only four missed cuts between them in 2013.  Hadley is a 2013 Web.com Tour graduate, and a rookie on the PGA Tour.  He finished T5 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in October.

On the second green, Hadley asked Poulter about his car collection.  Poulter said he recently purchased a Ferrari F50, and gave Hadley a few tips about buying cars.  Hadley said he would like to buy a Lamborghini one day.

Danny Lee, Kevin Tway, John Peterson, and Andrew Loupe played a practice round on Torrey North.  All four players graduated from the Web.com Tour in 2013.  Tway, Peterson, and Loupe are rookies on the PGA Tour.

On the tenth hole, Loupe outdrove Peterson, his former college teammate at LSU, by 25 yards with a three wood.
