Last week we learned the New York Yankees had made trade inquiries for San Diego Padres infielder Logan Forsythe but apparently, they’re far from the only team to do so.
According to Chris Cotillo, a ‘number of teams’ have done the same:
Hearing “a number of teams’ have called the
#Padres about trading for Logan Forsythe.
Forsythe had a woeful 2013 campaign though most of it was spent battling through injury. His 2012 season was much better and it seems doubtful the Padres would part with the 27-year-old talent unless they were given an offer they couldn’t refuse.
Add in that he’s under team control for the foreseeable future and he brings with him a utility presence that can play in both the infield and the outfield, he likely is far more valuable to the Padres than whatever type of talent he could bring back in a trade.
Cotillo did not mention any of the interested teams who’ve made trade offers for the veteran utility player.
