After Denver Nuggets sharp shooter Danilo Gallinari suffered a torn ACL last season, he and the team knew it would be a long road back.
They probably didn’t think it would be this long.
Gallinari, who initially hinted he could return in December had to push his anticipated debut back as his recovery wasn’t ready. December was pushed into January and January was pushed into February. The timetables became more and more vague and today we’ve learned that Gallinari will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing knee surgery, this according to Yahoo Sports.
Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari had reconstructive ACL surgery on Tuesday will miss the entire 2013-’14 season, sources tell Yahoo.
The concern here isn’t that Gallo will miss the remainder of the season – a thought that already seemed likely, but the fact he went in and had another ACL surgery.
You can’t help but wonder how effective he’ll be returning to the NBA – this assuming he does.
Just awful news no matter how its sliced.
According to Yahoo, Gallinari never had ACL surgery in April as rumored, rather just a meniscus operation. Still, very tough news.
