North Carolina State Wolfpack Men’s basketball team ended a three-game losing streak when they defeated the Maryland Terrapins on Monday. It was a big 65-56 win over the a solid 11-8 Maryland team.
That obviously was a cause for celebration and the players decided to huddle around and do the “Nae Nae” dance. Sports figures doing the dance has become a trend lately.
In the NFC Wild Card round, New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram did the “Nae Nae” dance after scoring a touchdown. After winning the Rose Bowl, the Michigan State Spartans did the “Nae Nae” in the locker room afterwards with rapper Rich Homie Quan. Even Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard got in on it participating in an actual video with the creators of the song, We Are Toonz.
So when the Wolfpack and head coach Mark Gottfried went to celebrate, doing the Nae Nae dance only seemed to make sense.
