NFL Rumors: Jim Harbaugh has spoken to Browns about 49ers assistant coaches

The Cleveland Browns head coaching search is not going well – at all. So that has lead the Browns to delve a bit deeper into their wish list which could apparently include members of the San Francisco 49ers head coaching staff.

On Monday it was reported the Browns could have potential interest in 49ers defensive line coach Jim Tomsula, a notion that coincides with a report from CSN Bay Area which says Jim Harbaugh has spoken to the Browns in regards to his assistants.

Jim Harbaugh said he’s had conversations with Browns about some 49ers assistant coaches. He didn’t get specific.

The fact that it was ‘assistant coaches’ rather than just ‘assistant coach’ makes it likely the Browns were interested in more than one, potentially asking San Francisco about offensive coordinator Greg Roman as well – though that is not confirmed at this point. Roman interviewed twice for for the Minnesota Vikings job as did Tomsula, who interviewed once.

No interviews are officially scheduled at this point.
