There was a scary scene at Purdue University when a gunman was loose on campus earlier on Tuesday. From CNN:

A gunman shot and killed another man Tuesday inside Purdue University’s electrical engineering building, spurring worried students to scramble into the bitter cold outside for safety.

The Indiana school’s police chief said that the suspect appeared to have had just one target in mind. He left the building right after the shooting, and a city police officer arrested him.

Despite all that, Purdue still had a basketball game against Northwestern on Tuesday night. They were likely distracted and thinking about friends back on campus. Some Northwestern fans in a great display of sportsmanship and human spirit showed up with their chests painted “stand with Purdue.” A small gesture that likely meant a lot.
