The Texas Longhorns basketball team grabbed themselves a huge win on Tuesday night as they were able to knock of a second ranked team in a row, this time in the form of the Kansas State Wildcats due to the clutch shooting of junior Jonathan Holmes.
After a huge 10-point win over the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday, Texas found themselves in a dogfight throughout the entire game with the Wildcats, right down to the wire.
With time running out, Kansas State nailed a shot to tie things up at 64 apiece. After taking two timeouts, head coach Rick Barnes drew up this in bounds play that would ultimately be the game-clincher for the Longhorns and the best moment of the season for Holmes.
That was the only three-pointer made by Holmes in the game, but it was the one when it mattered the most.
Texas pushed their record to 15-4 overall on the season with that shot and 4-2 in the Big 12 Conference as they look to make a serious run.
