The Florida Gators were the beneficiaries of the coaching change with the Penn State Nittany Lions which resulted in five-star defensive tackle Thomas Holley flipping his commitment in favor of the Gators, and now he is going from the recruited to recruiter, according to Gator Country.
“Hopefully we can get Lorenzo Carter to join the team,” Holley said. “I need to get him in this class and we have a good relationship because of combines and just spending so much time together last summer and he’s a really good guy. I’ve been texting Lorenzo and trying to find out where he’s going and right now he said he doesn’t know but I’m going to keep working him and trying to convince him to join me at Florida.”
Carter (Norcross, Ga. Norcross) is one of the top uncommitted prospects left with 15 days remaining until National Signing Day and the five-star recruit took one of his official visits to Gainesville early in the season, so the interest is there with the 6-5, 230-pound edge rusher.
Carter has the Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers and Florida State Seminoles in his final four with the Gators.
