Former Arizona State Sun Devils defensive tackle Will Sutton arrived at the Senior Bowl at 315 pounds, down from the 330 he played at during the season and looked lethargic, heavy-legged and sporting a lot of ‘bad weight’ after he bulked up from his playing weight of 267 pounds.
Sutton was a star as a junior when he had 23.5 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks to rank among the nation’s leaders, but after piling on the pounds dropped to 13.5 tackles for loss and only four sacks.
The weight showed, and in a bad way, Sutton had a bad first day of practice in Mobile and rebounded a little bit on Tuesday, but teams are concerned about his conditioning and his lack of suddenness and burst in drills.
ArizonaSt Will Sutton played at 295 as a JR, school wanted him to bulk up. Played at 325 this year. Down to 315 here. Goal is 300 by Combine

Will Sutton not looking great today, struggling to clear his hips through drills. Extra weight hindrance in these drills
ASU DT Will Sutton looked very lethargic and heavy legged.

Sutton’s weight will be the biggest number teams monitor leading up to May’s draft and if he’s down to 300 for February’s combine and then near 285-290, he could help to stop his plummeting draft stock.
