Less than one week after being hired as the offensive line coach for the Maryland Terrapins, Dave DeGuglielmo is leaving for the NFL.

Maryland head coach Randy Edsall congratulated DeGuglielmo in a written statement:

I would like to congratulate Dave on this exciting opportunity for his career. Dave is a great coach who brings a wealth of experience and will be a valued asset at the next level. We are honored that NFL teams pursue members of our coaching staff as we feel this is a compliment to our program (The Baltimore Sun).

DeGuglielmo also released a statement:

I was excited about the direction of the Maryland football program and coaching in the Big Ten. I was looking forward to working with Randy and couldn’t have been more confident in where this program is heading. Because of family issues this is an opportunity that I could not pass up.

It has not yet been revealed which NFL team hired DeGuglielmo, but we’ll update you when the information becomes available.
