The New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers ranked as the two most valuable teams in the NBA this past season, this according to Forbes who released their annual rankings on Tuesday morning.
Neither team was separated by all that much with the Knicks clocking in with a worth of $1.4 billion while the Lakers chimed in just below at $1.35 billion. Los Angeles still managed to haul in a $66 million dollar profit during the 2012-13 season despite being $29 million dollars over the NBA’s luxury tax.
Coming in a distant third would be the Chicago Bulls who just eclipsed the $1 billion dollar price tag – making them, the Lakers and the Knicks as the only teams valued over $1 billion dollars in the league.
