NBA Rumors: Milwaukee Bucks unlikely to make big deadline trade

The Milwaukee Bucks are currently the worst team in the NBA – at least standings wise – and it isn’t even close.

So could a massive trade be in the works come the February trade deadline? Not likely, this according to ESPN’s Chad Ford who suggested otherwise on Wednesday morning.

Unless a major trade-deadline deal shakes up the team (unlikely, according to sources), the Bucks look nearly certain to have the best chance to lock up a No. 1 pick on lottery night.

By ‘major trade’ Ford is suggesting the team trade their upcoming lottery pick for a superstar. That doesn’t mean the Bucks won’t be sellers come the deadline as they have a handful of veteran players with expiring contracts that could be of interest to playoff level teams.

Caron Butler and Luke Ridnour are players both rumored to be on the block and both will likely have significant value in the coming weeks.

Anything the Bucks can get for either player should be seen as a positive considering neither has a future in Milwaukee past this season.
