Every year during the NFL Draft process, a number of small school prospects establish themselves among the top players at their position. It can be hard to scout the small school guys who are playing against “lesser competition,” but when you get them in all-star games they have the opportunity to shine.
North Dakota State offensive tackle Billy Turner is one of those players that has been coming on strong and he has been making a positive impression with NFL scouts during Senior Bowl Week in Mobile, Alabama.
Turner has the size that you look for in an NFL offensive lineman (6-foot-5, 316 pounds), and he has the upside and athleticism to excel at the next level.
Multiple scouts on hand in Mobile have been singing the praises of Turner, which has led to the belief that he will be among the top 100 players selected in the 2014 NFL Draft in a couple of months.
There is still time for Turner to continue rising up draft boards throughout the draft process, and he has the ability to stand out at the NFL Scouting Combine next month that will allow his draft stock to continue to soar.
