Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman made the most pivotal play on Championship Sunday with a tipped pass. That ball was then intercepted by outside linebacker Malcolm Smith sealing a trip to the Super Bowl for Seahawks. That moment has earned him the cover of the Sports Illustrated Super Bowl XLVIII preview cover.

It is just one of two covers, the other features Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. His Broncos teammates and coaches are avoiding giving Sherman any bulletin board material for the Super Bowl so far.

“I know he’s a terrific player, a great cover guy,” said Broncos head coach John Fox, via ESPN. “I know the Seahawks are statistically very good on defense, and in particular pass defense. I’m sure their secondary has a lot to do with that.”

“He’s done a great job ever since he’s been in the league,” tight end Julius Thomas said. “He likes to have a little fun out there. I don’t necessarily think there is anything wrong with that.”
