Things are not going all that well for David Moyes and Manchester United this season, including defeat in the semi-final of the League Cup last night.
Some fans aren’t handling it all that well. Greater Manchester Police released a statement on their Facebook page after one fan in particular decided that a crime had been committed – and dialled 999 demanding to speak to Sir Alex Ferguson, report the Manchester Evening News.
Just before the call was placed, United were dumped out of the Capital One Cup on penalties by Sunderland, having put in another listless and unfocused performance.
There will be little sympathy for United, given their dominance over the last 20 years or so, but there are clearly some fans who don’t entirely understand what counts as an emergency.
