The UFC’s return to London will have a new co-main event, after Ross Pearson was forced to withdraw from his rematch against fellow lightweight Melvin Guillard due to a knee injury. There is no timetable for Pearson’s return to the octagon.
With Pearson out of action, Guillard’s former Blackzilians teammate, Michael Johnson, will be stepping up to take the fight.
Johnson is coming off of two consecutive wins over Joe Lauzon and Gleison Tibau — both of which came in impressive fashion.
The event is UFC Fight Night 37 and it takes place on March 8. The event, which is headlined by a key match up in the light heavyweight division between former title contender Alexander Gustafsson and the heavy-handed Jimi Manuwa, will be held at the O2 Arena and air on UFC Fight Pass.
