Although the Chicago Bulls have all but suggested Derrick Rose is out for the season, the MVP point guard isn’t hearing that noise and has hinted a playoff return isn’t out of the question.
That however, is unlikely but despite that, Rose continues to make strides for a potential return. Recently he began traveling with the team – the first time since suffering his injury earlier this season – and has now resumed somewhat normal shooting activities, this according to K.C. Johnson.
Thibodeau mentioned in his postgame comments that Rose has started shooting. Rose also found out he landed a spot in the pool of 25 to 30 players for Team USA 2014-16 that will be announced Thursday.
It’s just a small step, but one in the right direction. He still has yet to resume any basketball activities outside of spot-up shooting and won’t for a another month or two – that of course assuming there are no setbacks.
The Bulls, winners of three straight, currently sit in the Eastern Conference’s fifth seed and could pose an interesting return scenario for Rose if they make it deep into the postseason.
