Could Luol Deng find his way back to the Windy City?
The Cleveland Cavaliers small forward says it isn’t out of the question.
A free agent at season end, Deng has previously suggested he’s open to re-signing with the Cavaliers but if he hits the open market, the Bulls could very much be in play.
“What happened happened,” Deng said. “I love Chicago. There’s no bad blood or anything. For me to say I’m taking Chicago out of the equation, that’s stupid. I was there for 10 years.”
In short, Deng’s simply taking the ‘it’s a business’ route when it comes to the Bulls, as he should.
That said, it’s doubtful the Bulls traded Deng away just to re-sign him come free agency. Granted, Chicago will likely have available funds to do so but that marriage appears to have moved on. Still, stranger things have happened and Deng does have a long history with the organization.
Tough to imagine the Cavs letting Deng walk however considering the draft picks they gave up.
