Senior Bowl 2014: BYU LB Kyle Van Noy lining up all over the place in practice

BYU linebacker Kyle Van Noy was one of the more disruptive forces in college football in the Cougars’ 3-4 defense. This was no more evident than in the 2012 Poinsettia Bowl when Van Noy virtually won the game on his own with his special teams and defensive play.

But this week at the Senior Bowl, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley is giving him the chance to show the NFL scouts what more he can do by not only lining him up at his linebacker slot, but defensive end as well.

Van Noy spoke to the NFL Network about the chance to display his versatility to the folks at the next level.

“It’s hard,” Van Noy told the College Football 24/7 podcast. “You got to learn a lot of assignments in a little amount of time. You learn something new everyday. You get to play with different players, learn different techniques from those players, and continue to improve.”

There’s no doubt that despite primarily playing in the 3-4 at BYU, Van Noy could prosper as a stand-up defensive end in the 4-3 scheme.
